Step 7. All new documents are named "Document" by default. Be sure you are in your My Documents folder, then name the document something that will make sense to you later. Hint: It's a good idea to use the date in the name, too. Documents in Notepad will have the extension .txt and in Wordpad, .rtf. Either one is fine. NOTE: On these illustrations you will see the words "Main My Documents". In your computer the folder will be called "My Documents" so we refer to it that way.
